No one has gone Platinum yet because it hasn't been God's will. The time is coming though. He knows whom He can trust in that situation. He is raising up, right now, people who can and will be entrusted with this responsibility. It is a huge responsibility to be in the spotlight like that. People are going to try and slander, point fingers, lie on us, and cast the blame all around for everything. The Christian artisits that break through will be under greater scrutiny by the world than any other. There will be secular artists taking shots at them and they will have to remain humble and walk in the Spirit. It's going to be a real fight for the ones who do get in, but God's going to be  with them every single step of the way.  Right now He's seeing who is faithful over a few, before He makes them a ruler over many. The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous, remember that. Hold to it and know that it's true. Stop focusing on the money, how many are buying, or how shady some people can be. Instead, know that God is putting the music into the hands of those whom He wants to have it, know that soon there will be a REAL breakout Christian artist, and know that He's going to deal with the crooked individuals Himself. If we are obedient to what He's telling us to do, we'll never go wrong. Peace and God Bless!!!

  Sorry if I didn't make myself clear...I was making a point that I work a normal 8-5 job, not making more then the average person, yet I still burn MY OWN cd's to give for free. If you read K-Drama's post that I was replying too then you can understand what I meant. Sorry for any misunderstandings though.


Funny though, how people started jumping to conclusions before asking what I meant by what I said. Next time just ask the person to clarify what they meant and then take if from there...that would be the wise thing to do. God bless

I don't think anyone on this board is ready (including myself first)...I'll tell you that much. In all honesty, if there's anyone then let it be CROSS MOVEMENT. Through it all they've maintained humble and contrite hearts...which is just the right mixture for God to bless. In my younger years I used to have dreams and aspirations of making money and going platinum...I believed it was all for the right reasons but God knows the heart...we deceive ourselves, sometimes thinking things that are not true. God knows the truth. God knows are true motives and only he truly knows what we can or cannot handle.fficeffice" />


Our prayer should be this..."Lord, I pray that your will be done. If you would use me to reach millions then go ahead. If it's just a few people then go ahead.  If  throughout all my work and dedication only one soul comes to the kingdom, then it will have been worth it all.  Nevertheless not my will but your will be done. Use me in the way you see fit Lord.


This is my prayer..."God, may your will be done". If it's his will to use you to lead millions to him...then it will happen. If it's just one...it will also happen.  You can't go wrong praying for his will to be done but you can go wrong praying for all kinds of things that might now be his will.


In James 4 it say's...


      1What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.. James 4:1-3


I'm sure that these people thought they had good motives when they were asking God for things, but God knows the true motives of our hearts and he will not place on us more then we can bear, lest we become like the young rich man in Matthew 19 that turned down Jesus' invitation to follow him because he  could not give up his riches. To him, those riches were a stumbling block because they had become priority over everything else, including Jesus. God knows what each of us can and cannot handle. To be honest, we do not know as much as we think about ourselves...  (The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? - Jeremiah 17:9)


13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins. - James 4:13-17


Amen, blessed be the name of the Lord. Verse 15 shows how we ought to go about  bringing our plans before the Lord...because God has plans and we need to make sure that our plans line up with the great, perfect plans that Lord has in place.


We  cannot just ask for ANYTHING we want and expect to always  get it. God is not a genie in a bottle...look at this scripture...


      13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us? Whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him. - 1 John 5:13-15


Key words there ...that if we ask anything according to his will...he not only will hear us, but will grant our request. So if we pray and ask for things that aren't his will then we cannot expect those requests to be granted...but he already told us that would happen so we need to be more wise about what we pray for.

I respect your posts greatly...but I am tired of folks hyper spiritualizing......economics....I see funk master flex...makin cheese with msn...he aint spiritual..he sellin records though....I see Jayz...makin cheese...mocking Jehovah name and all...he aint that spiritual....but he is  selling records....first things first I literally respect Holiness and all that and it is a very necessary component to a successful movement...bible says it rains on the Just and the unjust...for those  crying concerning judgement and Hurricane katrina...peep this message..the commander in chief himself...luke 13...except that you repent the same thing can happen to you...what that got to do with anything you ask...well its the same spiritually well intended comments...looks good on paper...but its not what is actually happening.. notice that i said that the key to a great MOVEMENT of the holy spirit...is well holiness...but the key to selling records is simple...look at the ant....imitate the ant ...do what you know you are supposed to do...sell records out of your trunk...witness .to the people...do it like you know the Lord called you ...you might miss a few meals...grind baby....get out  there and sell those holy spirit inspired tracks...go out preach to the people give them living water...but more than that become an outpost for Christ in your area....more importantly...if you are pursuing a record deal...know what you are getting into...cause you might not make a dime...but...if you stay on course in 3 years you could be in a position of power to make some moves helpful to the kingdom... not enough of  us are hustlin...like we hungry...Bishop Long started out at 300 members....hustled...and it wasnt pretty...made it...Creflo Dollar...started out from a school building....Hustled...wasnt easy...made it....TD Jakes...started from the Gutter...Hustled...made it....


Discipline...Disciple is the root word....lets get out and out work... the unrighteous ...with Wisdom..cause while you out selling tracks who is to say you cant pick up another hustle on the side to fund the Gospel...fix computers do something..but lets stop complaining and motivate...there are thousands of folk out there calling your house selling products nobody wants....but somebody is making money cause they keep calling....peep my last post...cause folks are squatting on your land wondering were are the saints of the most high God...I said in my last post on this issue that there are people in the streets who know that Gospel sells...even trying to contract me to make them a website cause they selling so many Gospel mix tapes..guess what they aint saved!!!! and they are making YOUR MONEY!!!!!....

I started this whole convo,and I am learning alot.believe me,Thank you everyone for your responses. I just hope i do not cause any friction among the brotherhood. Before we are musicians,producers, we are sons of GOD,amen? If you're in his for money, you're in it for the wrong reason. I'm in it for Christ dude. Why you worried about Jay and Flex anyway? The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous. Don't worry about the secular artists, what they doing, how they doing it, or any of that. Don't worry about the money either because God will take care of you. He's got to condition His people first before He just throws them into the spotlight. You say that you just going to keep hustling to make it, well maybe God wants you to be still and know that He is God. Maybe He wants you to back up, take your hands off of it, and let Him hustle it for you. You could be in the streets for ten years trying to get your music into the right person's hands, but God could put your music in the right person's hands in ten minutes. That's where I'm at. I know that He is in control of who gets hold of my music, so I'm just being still and knowing that He is God right now. Now if He opens up doors of opportunity, then I'm definitely going through them. But I don't feel in any way that I need to be out there pushing myself. If it be God's will, IT WILL BE DONE!!!!!

chosen.i think u took whut kisbah said outta context.hes not saying money is number one.hes saying that if you wanna be succesful at anything u do u gotta work hard.u gotta market,sell,perform and anything that can get your name out.gospel rappers are not gonna make it if there just sitting there praying "ohhh GOD please bless me that i may do your work".i know praying is good and all BUT GOD aint gonna bless nobody thats not having faith AND DOING THE WORK.

I know you gotta put in work to make it because faith without works is dead.  If I took what dude said out of context, I apologize for it. I just see alot of people now days that are doing too much ON THEIR OWN and it ain't even something that God's told them to do. It's just something that they want to do. They'll wonder why things aren't working and it's because they're putting all of their efforts into something that God doesn't even want them doing in the first place. Also, you see the ones who THINK they're the hottest HHH artist never discovered. They think that they deserve the mansion, yacht, and all that before they even sign a deal. The ones that ride around bumping their own CD's, ya know. It's ridiculous. Forgive me for categorizing Kisbah's statements. That was just the first thoughts that hit me when I read the first couple paragraphs of his post. Peace and God Bless ya'll!!!

yeah man I am saying  anything that syncs up  with the spirit of    Love dog...Love believes all things hopes all things...1cor 13...then you wont hear the money grubbing aspect of the post...only the encouragement side...its a balance....so everything positive in your post is what I am in agreement with...add that together with all statements of my post that you can recieve in Love...and I believe we end up with what God is trying to say.. through us all.....in Good balance... amen!!!

This positive confession/ Prosperity movement uses material wealth and money as a measuring stick of ones walk...(i.e. if someone is rich, or is well off financially then their walk must be in great shape. They must have God's favor)


The problem is that this is no accurate. The wicked curse God, but yet they have all these things that "Christians" use as a spiritual gauge. If that's the case, then Bill Gates is the Godliest man alive, because he has the most wealth.


Anyways, you all can have the riches, fame and popularity...earth isn't home; heaven is, so I'm going to store up my treasures there (Matthew 6). Only what we do for Christ will last forever.


I'd rather have Jesus then men's applause


I'd rather be faithful to his perfect cause


I'd rather be his than have riches untold


I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold


Blessed be the name of the Lord because he is more than enough!


God bless you all and I pray that you all grow in the Lord and become more like Jesus, for that is the fathers desire above all.
