What is Theology?

Theology is a big word that means “to study and learn about God”. Since God made

all of us, we should do our very best to learn everything that we can about Him and what

He wants us to do.

The Bible is the Word of God. Everything that God wanted us to know is in the Bible.

God told the men who wrote the Bible what to write. They wrote down all the things that

God wanted to tell us. There are no mistakes in the Bible. Everything that we read in the

Bible is true.

There is only one true God who is made up of three persons, God the Father, God the

Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Together these three are called the Trinity. They are

completely united and form the one true God. All three of these persons are God, and one

is not more important than either of the other two.

God is spirit and does not have a body like we do. He is everywhere all the time.

Everything in the whole universe was made by God. God knows everything that has ever

happened and everything that ever will happen. He even knows what we are thinking.

God is so powerful that He can do anything He wants, but since God is perfectly good He

will never do anything bad. God never Changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and

forever.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus came to earth and became a man. Even though Jesus became a man, He is still God.

Jesus is God and man at the same time. Jesus became a man so He could tell us about

God, and save us from our sins. Jesus saved us from our sins by dying on the cross. We

will not have to be punished for our sins, because Jesus took our place and was punished

for us. If we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for our sins then

God will forgive our sins and let us live in Heaven with him forever. After Jesus died on

the cross, God raised Him up from the dead to prove that He really was Gods Son and

that God really would forgive our sins if we believe in Him.

Now Jesus is in heaven with God the Father. One day he will come back to get

everyone who believes in Him and take them back to Heaven with Him.

The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit

to help us when he went up to Heaven. The Holy Spirit helps us to know that we are

sinners and that we need Jesus. When we believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes into our

hearts and helps us to do the things that God wants us to do. The Holy Spirit also told the

men who wrote the Bible what to write.

God created man in His own image. Since God does not have a body, this does not mean that we look like God, it means we can think like God can think.

The reason God created man was so that man would know how wonderful God is and

enjoy Him. Adam and Eve were supposed to live there life the way God wanted them to

and then they would live forever and be happy.

When Adam disobeyed God by eating the fruit from the tree that God had told him and

Eve not to eat from, sin entered the world. Sin is a very bad thing in all of us that makes

us selfish and makes us not want to do the things that God wants us to do. When sin

entered the world, death entered also. Now Adam and Eve could not live forever and one

day they would have to die. Since Adam and Eve had sin in them, there children had sin

in them, and there children, and there children all the way to us. Now we all have sin in

us and we will all die one day just like Adam and Eve. Sin is the reason that people do so

many bad things and there is so much suffering in the world

There is nothing that we can do to get rid of the sin that is in us, so God sent His son

Jesus Christ to die on the cross and pay the price for our sins. This is called Salvation.

Jesus saved us from paying the price for our sins, which is death.

There is nothing that we can do to deserve salvation so God saved us by His grace.

Grace is when someone gives something to someone or does something for them even

though the other person does not deserve it.

The only thing that we have to do to be saved is to believe that Jesus is the Son of God

and He died on the cross for our sins and that God raised Him from the dead. We believe

this through faith. Faith is when we believe something is true even though we can not see

it. We can not see Jesus but by faith we believe in Him.

God is the one who gives us faith so we can believe in His Son. He chose everyone who

would believe in Jesus before the beginning of time. Everyone who God chose will Have

faith in Jesus and God will receive every one who has faith in Jesus.

As soon as we believe in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts and begins to

make us more and more like Jesus. People who believe in Jesus are called Christians.

Because we are so thankful to God for saving us, and because we love Him so much, we

want to do all the good things that make Him happy, and we don’t want to do any bad

things that hurt Him. Sometimes we will still mess up and do bad things but God will

forgive us if we ask Him to and one day in Heaven we will be perfect like Jesus and never

do anything wrong.

along with everybody else in the whole world who believes in Jesus. We are all brothers

and sisters in Gods family and Jesus is the head of the family. We go to church to learn

more about God, to visit with other Christians, and to work together with other Christians

to do the things that God wants us to do. One thing that God wants us to do is to tell other

people about Jesus so that they can be saved and become a member of Gods family too.

God created angels to serve him and to worship him. Angels are spirits like God, but

they were made by God so they are not equal with Him.

the enemy of God and man and he does not want anyone to believe in Jesus and be saved.

It was the devil who brought sin into the world by getting Adam and Eve to eat the fruit

that God told them not to eat. One day The devil and all his demons will be thrown into a

lake of fire and punished forever.

Because there is sin in the world, one day every living thing will die. Plants die, animals

die, and people die. People have a soul inside of them that we can not see that does not

die. This is the part that is really us. The only part of a man or woman that dies is their

body, not there soul. When the body of someone who believes in Jesus dies, there Soul

goes straight to heaven to be with Jesus. One day when Jesus comes back to get the

people who believe in Him, the souls that are already with Him will get there bodies

back, but they will be new, perfect bodies that will never die. When the body of someone

who does not believe in Jesus dies, their soul goes to be punished and one day they will

be thrown into the lake of fire and punished forever with the devil and all his demons.

One day Jesus will come back from Heaven and get all the people who believe in Him

and take them back to heaven with Him. This is called the rapture. All the people who do

not believe in Jesus will be left on earth and there will be a lot of very bad things that

happen. The world will be ruled by a very bad man called the Antichrist for seven years.

After seven years have gone by, Jesus will come back to earth again and get rid of the

Antichrist and the devil. Then Jesus will rule over the earth for a thousand years and there

will be peace on earth and everyone will act like God wants them to act. After the thousand years of peace on earth, Jesus will release the devil one last time and he will try

to lead a war against God and Gods people, but God will destroy the devils army with fire

from heaven. Then the devil and his demons and everyone who does not believe in Jesus

will be thrown into the lake of fire to be punished forever. Finally, God will destroy the

whole earth and then make a brand new earth were there will be no sin. Heaven will come

down to earth and the people who believe in Jesus will live there and God will reign

forever and ever.
