Yes i'ts me againJust curious on how many church group are starting the new year out with a Fast, be it 21 or another and what do you do to get through it.
Hey my church group is starting a fast. Im writing alot more not thinkin about it. still reading the word too.

Yeah, my church has a fast for the new year too. It's a 3-week deal, becoming more intense each week. For example, this week we are abstaining from all sweets and snacks. (Laaaaawd, help meeeeee!!!)  Then no starches, and the last week is no meat. And right on cue, the devil has been trying his best to attack. But that's cool cuz I've been on that threshing floor and intend to stay on it!!
Be encouraged, all the rest of you who are also fasting.

hey dunkin,
my church is doing the Daniel fast. its for 40 days. I am also going to take part in it while i read the Purpose Driven life. I am just kind of taking it one day at a time. There is strength in numbers, so you can kind of pull on your brothers and sisters in Christ to help you while u fast.

My church is doing a 40 day fast. We don't have any specific rules as to what we should fast * we are just required to fast. Our crew (Soul Movement Crew & a few affiliates) fast every wednesday, every last sunday of the month, and a week prior to our events. pls feel free to email us your prayer request

Not hard at all brother Bernabus. It's a 21 day total fast. Not meats, no sweets, no juice, no veggies. Nothing but the living water and H20.
Just a testimony I have a 14year old nephew how is trying to follow God but finds it hard when his parents are'nt saved. But this year for the first time he WANTS to fast. 21 days at that! I told him I was proud of him for even wanting to do it but as a first fast he may want to do a parcel until he gets use to fasting. I'm praying that no matter what he'll stay with God but it's hard. He doesn't have any positive male roll- models in his life.
I'll keep you all up in prayer and for those doing a 40 day fast I pray that God gives you 40 days of FIRE!

lol, God has called me to a fast too. :-) i had been contemplating wether He wanted me to or not, and yawl know how when the Lord wants to tell you sumthin, He makes it CLEAR, and if u dont get it right away, He sends LOTS of confirmation, lol. :-) well, its clear that He wants me to now. i'm fastin and prayin for 8 days, starting today, for the new school year, the new ministry year, and taking some rookie souljahs out wit me to da skreets next weekend. :-) (rookie, as in they neva done skreet ministry before, but not as in "infant in Christ". i wouldnt let them come if God aint tell me they was ready. :-))
anyhoo, i've neva fasted from anything other than food, period, so thats what i'm doin again. those have been VERY helpful to me in the past. :-) ... however, i used to fast so much that i got caught up in religion and "fasting" and took my eyes off God more than i should have. this is actually my first fast in a good 5 or 6 months. :-) (i used to fast 2 days of every week before i preached), but i'm EXCITED about the things God will show me through this. :-) Glory to God.
